Workouts and Foreclosures
HRD's practice is concentrated in the representation of secured creditors in both real estate and asset-based loans. The firm is well versed in loss mitigation efforts intended to prevent consumer loan foreclosures through loan forbearance, modification, deed-in-lieu, as well as short sales and has obtained favorable results for clients in commercial loan workouts and restructures, re-documentation of troubled loans, foreclosure, and Article 9 Sales. HRD has liquidated numerous large real estate development projects including raw land and agricultural use properties, as well as retail, office, and mixed-use properties.
Litigation
HRD actively litigates in the District and Circuit Courts of Maryland, as well as DC Superior Court. We have successfully represented our clients' interests in pre and post-sale challenges to foreclosure proceedings, title curative litigation, as well as litigation involving alleged violations of TILA, FDCPA, and other consumer protection laws.
Bankruptcy
Our bankruptcy experience includes representing secured creditors' interests in the preparation and filing of proofs of claim, adversary proceedings, cash collateral litigation, debtor-in-possession financing, matters involving relief from the automatic stay, plan confirmation, and claim objections.
